Overview

How might we convert more trial users to paid subscribers?

The trial class is the first real touchpoint for potential customers. Redesigning this experience was critical to improving conversion rates and ensuring users had a positive first impression of Ringle.

Problem

Trial users weren't converting to paid subscriptions

Analysis showed that while trial sign-ups were healthy, the conversion to paid plans was below target. Users were dropping off at various points in the booking flow, and first-session satisfaction was inconsistent.

Solution

Streamlined booking with personalized onboarding

I redesigned the trial booking flow to reduce friction, added a profile completion step to better match users with tutors, and created a more engaging welcome experience that set clear expectations.

Reflection

What I learned

First impressions compound over time

A positive first experience doesn't just affect immediate conversion - it sets the tone for the entire user relationship.

Micro-interactions matter

Small details in the booking flow, like progress indicators and confirmation messages, significantly impacted user confidence.
